Beyond Burnout & Stress

Welcome to my practice! I support people in tech who work at high-stress environments to manage stress, overcome burnout, regain motivation, and navigate feelings of discrimination, isolation, and detachment from work.

 

I began my own healing journey, after a traumatic period in 2017. Walking through my own trauma showed me my purpose: to support others on their path to healing. In 2025, I left my job as a software engineer to fulfill this dream.

 

While my heartfelt desire is to help everyone, I chose the community I still belong to —tech professionals. I’ve witnessed how difficult it can be for some to find someone who truly understands their unique challenges, and speaks their language.

By combining my background in tech with my knowledge, and passion for psychology, I see myself as someone who can bridge the gap and offer a space where they feel understood,  and supported.

Refactoring the Self

Burnout, high stress levels, and imposter syndrome often arise from a mix of workplace pressures, life circumstances, and unresolved past experiences, reinforcing one another in a cycle.

 

Stepping away from work may provide short-term relief from some of these challenges such as burnout, but without addressing the deeper roots, the symptoms often return—sometimes even in a new environment.

 

Once the deeper roots are addressed though, it’s possible not only to find relief but also to break free from the cycle and step into lasting resilience,  confidence and tranquility.

I am grateful to Mariam for her help in Brainspotting after the unexpected death of my father in December and then loss of our home to the Eaton Fire 3 week later.  I was not in a good place.  I had to work through a lot of grief and trauma and felt very out of balance,  Mariam is very patient and kind.  Although I don't really understand how Brainspotting works, I can say that it helped me.  It helped me with the incredible grief I felt after my dad passed.  It helped me focus on the depth of the love I have for my dad.  Brainspotting also helped me grieve the loss of my family home for 25 years and almost all our possessions.  When I felt anxiety over the loss of our home and fear of fire, refocusing my gaze to the spot I associated with my dad physically resulted in me visualizing a cover over the fire that was protecting me.  Accessing a safe space in my brain to help deal with trauma and grief was really remarkable.

If you value high-impact and efficient work with fast feedback, Mariam’s sessions are for you. They feel like targeted debugging for the nervous system.
